The Chain App

 

The Chain App is a mobile app and website solution built specifically for the Australian Transport Industry. Originally a custom solution for a transport company with requirements for safety, compliance, fatigue & mass management, proof of delivery, photo & signature capture and streamlining of all aspects of work order management, from job creation through to invoicing & reporting.

We built something that is so good, we want to share it with the world.

The Chain App delivers peace of mind through ensuring drivers and vehicles are safe compliant, based on licenses, insurance, inductions, pre-start checks & break notification and management – all within our iPhone/iPad & Android applications, with full administrative and monitoring control in the office via our desktop web portal.

 

The Chain App also streamlines administration and can get you paperless… Seriously!

Customised reporting and invoicing, with bulk job invoicing and payment reconciliation are all part of the system. Approve all completed jobs via the portal, updating any information required (tolls, levies, return components etc) after checking the driver’s captured data, which will release the customer’s runsheet via their portal (it can also be emailed to them directly – including attachments). The aim here is to give you your nights, mornings and weekends back – the system has you covered.

What’s more – as The Chain App is an industry solution, the more links (organisations using The Chain App) the better. As your partners come on to the system, you can easily allocate and track jobs to be fulfilled by partners or subcontractors. This gives added peace of mind that all links in your supply chain are operating in a safe, compliant and accountable way, and speeds up your ability to report on and invoice for jobs they complete.

Importantly, data shared between partner links in The Chain App is secure, and it’s very clear what your partner will see and when.

 

We believe we’ve thought of everything, but we are open to additional developments that will assist the industry. There are so many features, but the key items are below:

Safety & Compliance

  • Shift Start Checklist. Must be completed before the driver can start their shift.
  • License Tracking with expiration warning.
  • Site/Customer Inductions. Can be accessed and completed on the driver mobile device on the fly – no need to email, print, scan, upload – just do it all right in the system.
  • If a License is expired, or a specific induction or certificate is required for a job, the dispatcher will see the driver will be red (warning) in the list, and display a popup notification if the non-compliant driver is selected.
  • Fatigue Management is handled in accordance with the Chain Of Responsibility (CoR) guidelines for breaks and shifts. Our custom designed scheduler shows the driver workloads, along with their taken and scheduled breaks.
  • Break Warnings & Alerts – via Email, SMS and Automated Phone Call  mean we are doing everything we can to ensure drivers take their required breaks.

  • Proof Of Delivery.
  • GPS Tracking for all actions on the mobile app.
  • Load Approval Checklist and Photos by Driver and Loader

Administration & Reporting

  • End to End Job Management
  • Awesome Scheduler showing Driver Workload, Unallocated Jobs, Shift Start Point, Breaks Taken & Scheduled, with Drag and Drop allocation/reallocation to drivers. You can even open up jobs from the Scheduler. We spent a heap of time and effort on the Scheduler to get it just right for the Transport Industry – we think you will agree it is truly amazing.
  • Reporting by Client, Driver & Subcontractor, or across your whole business.
  • Compliance, License, Induction, Insurance, Maintenance administration is all covered by the system – saving you lot’s of time. Notification and alerts for expiry are sent 30 days, 14 days and then daily 7 days out from expiry to make sure everyone has plenty of time to keep their compliance information up to date to ensure they are a safe and useable link in The Chain App.
